Wood Drums

The Wood Drums MISSOM® are usually designed in a personalized way. In some cases the most important is the tuning, but in others even his transportation becomes a priority. Thus, MISSOM® presents various types of Wood Drums, all based on the same construction method for staves. Built of wood selected Hard Maple-turned, with the top in birch plywood and finished in matt polyurethane varnish. Legs can be constructed of wood or stainless steel, the height can be varied independently. The customization of this product allows for a tighter control of pitch and can form even without complete sets chromatic tuning, loose.

Tubofone

As its name implies, a tubofone is an instrument composed of one or more tubes, and these may be impacted over the body, longitudinally or at the top, using the tube as a sounding board for only one fundamental frequency: the corresponding to their length. By striking the top of the tube, this means that each tube promotes only two notes, with a pure octave interval between them, either be open or closed at the end opposite to the impacted. The Tubofone MISSOM® is manufactured in two versions: one for teaching (made in PVC) and other in Hard Maple wood. This instrument is tuned taking into account the equal temperament, with reference there to 440Hz. The sets are sold in accordance with the wishes of the customer and may be sold in sets chromatic, or loose. Dimensions of length between 500mm and 1500mm.

Tréculas

The Tréculas MISSOM® are manufactured in wood selected from Hickory, integrates a total of 13 blades attached at one end in a fan shape. This instrument is part of the tools developed by or for children in their play, being an active element in processions or the singing of Janeiras or Kings Day, door to door. Dimensions: 13 blades of 1,97 inch X 6,3 inch.

Cadeironcello

The Cadeironcello is an innovative tool designed by MISSOM®. This is one set stylized, where we can find several tools coupled, but it is not easy to characterize it. This musical chair includes a drum wood at top, one adufe skin and 10 strings on the back. This set of strings allows them to be individually rubbed with a bow or plucked, ranging from the low strings, cello, guitar and ukulele. It comes with a tuning system for tuning pegs. This instrument was produced to Drumming GP, for the event "Art On Chairs" in Paredes, Portugal (Nov/2012).

Wodd-Blocks Untuned

The wood-block, block of wood or Chinese box (in the toolbox Orff), is a musical instrument made of wood of a solid body with a longitudinal slot, which can be produced in various ways. The Wood-Blocks MISSOM® are cobbled, and have the particularity that they may be retuned, in the case of a well defined idiofone tall. The Wood-Blocks MISSOM® can also be produced in various woods, but hard-maple is being the most used and that offers better results from low to high consistency, and constancy enough on its density, allowing better control tuning. These instruments can be sold loose or in sets of five units, ready to be played in sets multipercussão as in works like 'Rebound' by Iannis Xenakis. Parallelepiped dimensions varied between 2,36 X 2,76 X 2,36 X 5,12 inch and 4,33 X 12,8 inch.

Ronco De Leão

The Ronco de Leão (Snoring Lion) is a musical instrument that allows to make perpetual the motion of rubbing a rope. Previously it was necessary to always use two hands, one holding the instrument with skin, and the other, usually wetted, rubbed a string that conveyed their vibrations to the skin. Currently, there is a crank system that allows you to play the instrument on an ongoing basis and only with one hand, while also allowing sequences richest rhythmically. The Ronco de Leão (Snoring Lion) MISSOM® is produced based on a Portuguese popular drum, made with natural skin. In the rope is applied one tensioner which allows not having always the rope and the skin under tension, thus saving their physical characteristics. Dimensions: Variable between 14'' to 20''.

Wood-Blocks Tuned

The wood-block, block of wood or Chinese box (in the toolbox Orff), is a musical instrument made of wood of a solid body with a longitudinal slot, which can be produced in various ways. The Wood-Blocks MISSOM® are cobbled, and have the particularity that they may be retuned, in the case of a well defined idiofone tall. The Wood-Blocks MISSOM® can also be produced in various woods, but hard-maple is being the most used and that offers better results from low to high consistency, and constancy enough on its density, allowing better control tuning. These instruments can also be designed to be part of one set of one to three chromatic octaves, and even quarter tones, addressing some of the challenges of contemporary music, achieving a sound and fairly short set. Dimensions: cobbles of various sizes between 5,12 inch X 2,36 X 2,76 and 2,36 X 4,33 X 12,8 inch are sold loose, or supports for one, two or three octaves of FA3 (La3 = 442Hz) to FA6.

Cajon Kids

Built in 0,47 inch birch plywood, the Cajon MISSOM Kids ® was designed with kids in mind, adapting it to an instrument didactically easier to use. The Cajon is an instrument that originated in Peru in the colonial era and was developed by enslaved African cultures. At that time, were seized boxes and drawers to make this instrument, which became the primary rhythmic accompaniment of popular tunes.
